Greece--- So what does a female do when she has reluctantly loaned her 2010 GMC Terrain to an ex-boyfriend and he refuses to return it? She calls 911 and On-Star.
On 12-09-11 a female reluctantly loaned her vehicle to an ex-boyfriend, Ronald Reis, with the understanding that it would be returned by noon so that she could go to work. When the 2010 GMC was not returned, the victim made repeated phone calls to the suspect but her vehicle was not returned. The victim was forced to have her son drive her to work and again repeatedly asked the suspect to return the vehicle and was even told that he was almost at her house. At about 4 p.m. the victim contacted On-Star and the Greece Police Department to seek assistance.
Officer Edward Caton responded and the female victim told the officer of the steps she had taken to try and get her vehicle back. Officer Caton was able to make contact with the suspect and he instructed the suspect to return the vehicle immediately since it was in the process of being reported stolen. A short time later, Officer Caton confirmed that the suspect had not taken his request seriously and was not in the process of returning the vehicle. The female then reported the vehicle stolen and indicated she would like to press charges.
Officer Caton then worked in cooperation with On-Star and learned that the vehicle was on Rt. 490. Officer Caton then coordinated an effort between the Greece Police Department, the Office of Emergency Communications (911) and other agencies to locate the vehicle. Two Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies then communicated that they had the vehicle in sight on Rt. 490 near Rt. 531. On-Star was able to activate the stolen vehicles parking lights in order for the Sheriff’s Deputies to confirm they were following the right vehicle since it was dark and snowing. When the Sheriff’s Deputies were able to confirm they were following the stolen vehicle, On-Star sent a signal to the vehicle disabling the throttle control and forcing the vehicle to stop. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies then took the suspect into custody without incident. It should also be noted that the vehicles direction was not in a path consistent with the suspect returning the vehicle to its owner and was stopped by the deputies at about 6 p.m. The suspect was taken into custody using modern technology and multi-agency cooperation without the suspect even knowing that he was being followed. Ronald Reis, 49, of Kent, N.Y. was charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree and was sent to the Monroe County jail after arraignment on $3,000 bail.

Big Shout to Joe Walters and Joel White who joined us this morning! They'll be on the field at Blue Cross Arena on December 17th for a FREE preseason game! First come first serve, check out http://www.knighthawks.net/ for details.
Yestrerday we made the observation that we have a sad excuse for a company Christmas tree. It was really thin at the bottom and was the weakest looking thing we've seen in out lobby since coming to Rochester 10 years ago!
Apparently someone heard about our observation and decided to fix the tree by cuttingt opff the bottom thin portion. They even left us a gift this morning by putting the part they cut off in the buzz studio LOL. Pics are below...
Chloe's "friend" who is a boy fancies himself a hunter. He in fact killed a squirrel, skinned it, cooked it and ate it all by himself. Kimberly's thinking that's a good trait to have, especially when the zombie-apocolypse comes. LOL.
BIG SHOUT to 13 WHAM News and Patrice Walsh for helping us help out Ariana! She's looking for a woman who saved her life back in March of 2008 when she was involved in a sledding accident that fractured her skull in 7 places. She was 7 at the time and all she wants for Christmas is to thank this woman who stopped a brain bleed and saved her life.
All we know is she has brown hair, is a nurse and has kids. We know... not much to go on but rumors spread quick.
We don't need to out the woman, we just want to help out Ariana.
